Premier Bioenergy Co., Ltd. (PBE), a subsidiary of the PQS Group, is committed to developing bioenergy solutions to promote sustainability across industries and society. Operating under the concept of 'Clean Energy for a Better Future,' PBE emphasizes the use of raw materials derived from the primary business process of producing tapioca starch. This process generates a significant amount of wastewater and tapioca pulp. With an environmentally and socially responsible production mindset, the company established PBE on July 14, 2008, to produce electricity from biogas. Biogas is generated from wastewater and tapioca pulp by-products from PQS’ starch production.

If left untreated, these by-products undergo natural bacterial fermentation, releasing greenhouse gases such as methane (CH4), hydrogen sulfide (H2S), carbon dioxide (CO2), and hydrogen (H2), contributing to global warming and unpleasant odors in nearby communities. PBE addresses this issue through greenhouse gas reduction activities by creating biogas lagoons for anaerobic digestion. This process allows bacteria in controlled environments to break down organic substances into biogas, which is then refined to contain 55–65% methane and used to generate electricity via gas engines. This supports the transition to clean energy, reduces greenhouse gas emissions, and promotes a circular economy. PBE is also registered under Thailand’s voluntary greenhouse gas reduction program (T-VER) with the project 'Electricity Generation from Anaerobic Digestion of Tapioca Residues by Premier Bioenergy Co., Ltd.,' enabling the company to trade carbon credits.

Our Core Business

PBE focuses on developing and producing electricity from biogas, a clean energy source derived from wastewater and tapioca pulp by-products. Currently, the company sells electricity to the Provincial Electricity Authority and supplies electricity to PQS for use in its starch production, reducing reliance on external power sources. Additionally, PBE sells biogas fuel as a clean energy substitute for rice husk fuel used to heat boilers in the starch drying process. The company also utilizes solar rooftop systems to generate electricity for office use, promoting energy sustainability and reducing dependence on external energy sources.
